Fees for DownsEd Consultancy and Training Services

Pricing policy statement

Prices are set at level that The Down Syndrome Educational Trust believes will broadly recover the costs involved in providing training events, and individual consultancy services. Other priorities, such as research activities and general information dissemination, and the Trust’s limited financial resources entail that it cannot currently generally subsidise training or individual consultancy services. The provision of the AdviceLine services is currently wholly funded by The Down Syndrome Educational Trust.

Where additional funding or specific grants can be obtained for the provision of training events or consultancy services, prices will obviously be reviewed (such as the current subsidisation of the Early Development Groups by the BBC’s Children in Need fund).

Where personal financial circumstances make attendance of training events difficult, individuals may apply for assistance from the Trust. Requests will be evaluated on an individual basis in the light of prevailing financial circumstances, but currently we tend to be able to offer subsidies for families on statutory income support (or similar).

Where parent groups or professional groups are seeking visiting lectures or workshops, we recommend that they aim to recruit as many participants as possible and levy a modest fee for attendance. In our experience, it is usually easy to cover the speakers’ fees and expenses and quite often results in a remaining surplus for the group.

If you (or a group with which you are involved) are seeking training or consultancy, whether at The Sarah Duffen Centre or nearer to home, and believe that you will have difficulties with our usual fees, please do not hesitate to discuss the options with us.
