DownsEd Visiting lectures and workshops

The Down Syndrome Educational Trust staff are able to offer workshop and lectures, tailored to the particular requirements of parent groups or practitioners, anywhere in the world. A number of the Trust’s staff regularly provide services in other European countries and frequently further afield.

Particularly with visiting lecture services require significant travel costs, we recommend that organisers aim to recruit as many participants as possible and levy a modest fee for attendance. In our experience, it is usually easy to cover the speakers’ fees and expenses and quite often results in a remaining surplus for the group. We encourage organisers of overseas events to liase with other groups in their region to see if a series of events can be co-ordinated, across which travelling expenses can be defrayed. Obviously, where staff visit for a number of days, we can also be more flexible about fees.
