DownsEd WorkshopsAt The Sarah Duffen Centre, Portsmouth The Down Syndrome Educational Trust runs a range of workshops and family conferences throughout the year. Some workshops are run several times a year. Consult the Calendar of Events towards the end of the leaflet for a summary of dates. A list of The Down Syndrome Educational Trust professional staff team, describing their qualifications and experience, is included later in the brochure. Education professionals may like to note that although primarily focusing on children with Down syndrome, much of the practical advice and discussion presented in many of workshops will also be applicable to other children with learning difficulties. At all workshops, participants are provided with notes, reading materials for which we have the copyright, and reference lists. Many of our workshops are designed to encourage participants to share their individual experiences. If you have any materials, such as practical samples of children’s work, that may help you to do so, then please feel free to bring it with you. Participants are also welcome to make full use of our library and information resources while at The Sarah Duffen Centre.
